About

Join International Artist Linda Hollingshead, well known for her friendly, inspiring and enjoyable workshops, for a creative day, learning how to create travel sketcbooks.

Sketchbooks have been used through the ages in a variety of ways and are a fun, relaxing and liberating way to explore creative expression without the pressure of feeling you have to get things "perfect!"!

Discover how to use a sketchbook to connect with and record the scenes around you from daily life, such as nature, your local town, travel and holidays. Learn valuable skills that you can continue to use and develop sketches

Linda shows a colourful illustrative style to walk you through a simple step- by- step process to simplify a scene and translate it into a sketch. This can be applied to landscapes, cities, coastlines and everyday items seen on your travels.

Discover easy ways to work with coloured drawing materials and how to create a successful page layout.

Learn about the essentials for your sketching kit and how to travel light!

You are invited to bring along photos of scenes you would love to sketch and Linda will share lots of tips and techniques with you throughout the day.

There will be a summary and round-up of the day, with suggestions for choosing a sketchbook you love and materials for continuing your sketching practice.

Participants will be shown demonstrations and will have guided one- to- one help and advice with opportunities for Q&A’s to achieve best results. There will be plenty of time to play and draw at your own pace.
