A unique opportunity to be inspired by the voices of young people from Yorkshire and Lancashire as they share their incredible poetry and spoken word!

Ilkley Young Writers

Celebrating 10 years of the group, Ilkley Young Writers are launching their new anthology, ‘Ilkley Young Writers 10 Year Anthology: Words Hanging Off Trees’, featuring work by current and former members, many of whom are regular performers on the local scene. Covering topics from sexism to environmental panic, their work is both highly relatable and bound to spark big conversations.

Beyond Labels

The Beyond Labels Collective comprises of 12 young emerging spoken word artists from The Hollins School based in the East Lancashire town of Accrington. Using creativity as a vehicle for self-expression the collective have produced a power-packed anthology of spoken work poetry – discussing topics ranging social justice, equality, unity and the environment. They will be sharing two short films – ‘Sentiments of Unity’ and ‘Call from Nature’

In partnership with Ilkley Literature Festival, Beyond Labels, The Hollins ‘Cohesion through Creativity’ Initiative, Young Identity and Spoke Poetry Hub.

By Road:
From M62, take Junction 26 and join the M606, continue on M606 to the A6177 junction, take the A6177 (Bradford Ring Road, signposted Harrogate/Leeds) and follow for approx 1 mile, passing the ASDA Superstore on the left. At the roundabout, take first exit onto A650 Wakefield Road following signs for City Centre. Continue for 1.6m going straight on at the roundabouts towards the City Centre. Go past the Leisure Exchange/Express by Holiday Inn on your left and straight through lights onto Shipley Airedale Road, then almost immediately take the first left into Peckover Street. At the end of Peckover Street turn left down Church Bank. Kala Sangam is through the arch to your right.

Due to limited car parking spaces, the car park at St Peter's House is for disabled car parking / unloading equipment only. Alternative parking is available on street (metered) or at the nearby Leisure Exchange.
