Artist Talk with Carolyn Mendelsohn

Join the Impressions Gallery, Bradford to hear Carolyn Mendelsohn discuss the work in Being Inbetween and join in the Q&A session afterwards.

Made over a period of 6 years, Being Inbetween is a series of powerful photographic portraits of girls aged between ten and twelve, exploring the complex transition between childhood and young adulthood. 

Carolyn will lead a presentation of the work in the exhibition via zoom, and will answer questions about the work as part of the live event. - 25 February 2021, 6.00pm - 7.00pm.

Storytime & Rhymetime

Join Bradford library staff virtually for a fun filled storytime for your little ones to enjoy. Every Friday at 10am online. Stories so far have included The Gruffalo, The Wonky Donkey and many more favourites.

Missing your rhymetime? Now you don’t have to. Have a great sing a long time with Sue BC and Bookstart Bear every alternate Tuesdays at 10am online.

LGBTQ+ History Month

LGBTQ+ History Month hosts its biggest ever celebration in Bradford with more than 200 online events throughout February.  With plays, poetry, stories and conversations, dance workshops and light shows, including some very special guests, there are plenty of ways to get involved.  Take a look through this year’s LGBTQ+ History Month programme (PDF, 3 Mb).

Front Room Poetry LGBTQ+ History Month with Ollie O’Neill 24 February 7.30pm on Zoom.  Ollie O’Neill is a poet and writer from London, currently based in Brighton. In 2013 she won the UK’s National Youth Slam Championship, and in 2020 she became a Barbican Young Poet alumni. She has gone read at venues such as The Institute of Contemporary Art, Soho Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, Cheltenham Literature Festival and many more.

Green Aire: Prose and Poetry Anthology
Saltaire Festival's 2020 anthology 'Green Aire' , developed in partnership with Aire Rivers Trust, is about how people have valued the natural world, particularly the River Aire and its surroundings during a year of restricted movement.  The collection features all the best writers from the 2020 Saltaire Festival's poetry and prose writing competitions and celebrates the ways in which different authors addressed the Green Aire theme.
